scraggs
hi all, so i'm getting ready to record, i spent a million hours getting my drums in tune, they all sound good together except...every time i hit the rack the snares buzz like mad. i mean, they buzz when i hit the floor or the kick too, but it's perfectly reasonable. the rack just makes it go nuts. i recorded a bit and it's awfully loud on tape. i tried all 3 of my snares and same thing with all of them. grrrr... so, any suggestions? is it a tuning thing? i have the rack a fourth down from the snare (roughly:) thanks! -scott

stix
Hey bro it could be a tuning thind but depending on the quality of the drum it could be your snare bed!!
djarrett
Hey, Scraggs: A tip that I have used successfully: Turn you snare upside down. Now, Have the snares running directly infront of you. Take a drum key and loosen on of the lugs directly next to the snares on one side. Then go directly across and to the opposite side lug and do the same. This puts a slightly uneven head tension against the snares. This slight de-tuning will deter the sympathetic vibrations in the bottom head. It has always worked for me. GIve it a try ... and hope this helps. DJ
