tigeba
First off, thanks for providing a forum for this question. I have been looking to upgrade my studio kit and have been looking at DW among others. I noticed that a few of the shops have some DW "Workshop" model kits that they are blowing out as discontinued. The major difference appears to be the oval "workshop" lugs and the lack of a reinforcing hoop in the shells. I assume the shells are otherwise the same construction as far as thickness/bearing edges go. My question is, are the discontinued "Workshop" model kits more closely related to the Collector models, or are they more like a prototype model for their Pacific line of drums? thanks! djarrett
tigeba:As you might suspect ... this is not the answer you hoped for. These kits were the precursor for the Pacific series. They are a far cry from the Collector's Series. DJ
