Drumlooney
Hey guys and girls, I own four snare, all with distinctive sounds and I love them all for different applications. Am I weird? or do some of you also own more than one snare?
Hayman
I have one Yamaha Maple Custom, one Hayman and one Slingerland chrome over brass and I have to be honest and say that I can't make any of them sound the way I like. I used a Ayotte snare in the studio once, that one I liked a lot. I think I'll buy one like that. The problem with my snares (or with my tuning) is that I can't make the snares respond right. Ghost notes and soft playing won't make the snares buzz enough. How can I solve this problem? Richard
popstalin
I own 2 but only use 1, a WMP 1960's Slingerland snare. I'm looking for a new (old) one but don't know what sounds like what. Jen H.
Uh Clem
I have 5 and I'm not even a drummer - but I love drums - pretty sick, I know. Steve Powell - Bull Moon Digital www.bullmoondigital.com
larrytkennedyexcite.com
I have 4, as well. My favorite is my Pearl Chad Smith signature drum, purchased by my wife for a Christmas present the year it came out. Loud, sensitive at low volumes, and looks cool!Next favorite is my Slingerland 14x4" wood SD, excellent low volume drum. I have a Ludwig snare I recovered to match my "Ringo" kit - gorgeous "woody" sound! Finally, I have a Rhythm Tech Laptop Snare - weighs less than a pound, and excellent for instant set-up for band rehearsals or unplugged gigs! Drumlooney
Hey Larry I've actually played that Chad Smith snare at a local drumshop, great sound, I almost picked it up. Does your wife have a sister? Just kidding.
