Dan Richards
I've never done it before and my band wants to paint a logo on the kick drum head. Any advice or pointers? I'm figuring maybe acrylic piant, but I dunno. Thx! Dan Richards Pro Studio Reviews

To confirm any doubts you can talk to a paint specialist and tell them what you plan to do. You'll be painting on mylar, which is the same material used with photographic film. Also, air brush specialists may be of assistance to you; many of these type of people do custom work. djarrett
Hey, Teller: Mylar is a funny material and not just any paint can be used on it. Some paints that are solvent based will eat right through the head. I (discovered this by trial and error). May I recommend my best findings: 1) REMO offers a program whereby you can special order a head with your logo made directly into the head. It is not painted, but rather part of the plastic. You supply them the art on disk in the form of gif or jpeg. 2) Go to a local sign company (ala Signs Now) and have them make your art into a static plastic logo. This logo will cling to the front head with static electricity, but can be removed should the band fold or if is the case for me, ... you play for more than one touring group and need to be able to change front logos. This works real well and cost about $30. Just adding my two cents. DJ
