felix stein
Gotta love the maple walls and chestnut trim in the big room. Lots of cherry trim in the control room. DrummerCafe
That's great Felix ... very cool. Wish I could hear what the room sounds like! Drummer Cafe - community drum & percussion forum
felix stein
It turned out better than I thought it would soundwise. There are giant helmholz bass traps all along the sides and bass traps on the side. It has it's own ambience signature. The thing I like about it is the low end I think I'm going to be able to get out of it. I'm still getting used to it. I guess I get to record some drums in it for the first time Sunday...so maybe you all will be able to hear it!!!!!!!!!!! felix's band
sidereal
Far be it from me to tell you what you probably already know, but just a thought... cool that you're digging the low end you're getting out of the room, but don't forget to "learn the room" as they say and compensate for that with EQ while tracking -- that is, if you want a fairly flat frequency setting to start with. If you definitely want that low end committed to tape for effect, by all means use the gift of the room itself and leave the board flat. Just thought I'd say that. Just for the record.
