bb thomas
Tim, great to see you made it! I was getting worried. Did you get my email? Things are much different here on this board. Welcome! Tell me what you are currently running in singles and doubles with your feet? Still with Axis? bb
SoundzapS
Welcome Tim, I must say that I felt bad when I saw what some of the morons on the Evans board wrote to you. You can see they are just wanna-be drummers. If they were serious about drumming, I'm sure it would have been different. I think it would be great if you can get Verdi here too. He and you both are incredible. Tell us more about you, and your record
djarrett
Hey, Guys: The footage I have of Tim is from Winter NAMM at the AXIS booth. It was an inpromptu demonstration. It is, however, up-close and personal! I do believe that Glen still holds the record. TIM, WELCOME TO MUSICPLAYER.COM's DRUM TALK!!! WooHoo! felix stein
I was watching the history channel last night and they had an excerpt on German machine guns. Well, towards the end of the war, the Nazi's produced the MG-42...capable of firing 1000-1200 rounds per minute. This weapon had not only a devastating physical effect on enemy forces but the psychological effect it had on the allieds was unreal as well. Soldiers would hear that thing go off and just drop to the ground. They had sound clips of this "bad boy" firing. Unreal...I was mesmerized. felix's band
djarrett
Hey, Felix: Many Drum Corps snare drum lines have been compared to that of a machine gun or gatlin' gun. It is funny too ... most drummers playing a roll out of know where can have the same effect. Folks ducking for cover! DJ
felix stein
This thing was faster sounding than anything I have heard before. They did have a gatling gun video/sound clip where some guy was firing it on the previous show- I think you could even play that fast dj! LOL...just kidding. felix's band

bb thomas
Tim Great! that's truly amazing!..Hey did you see here where djarrett has some footage of you at NAMM ? says he will post it here after summer NAMM, can't wait to see that one? What's your take on Andy of Drum! posting over at Evan's twice about his editorial? Do you think Ron Spagnardi will reply by posting? I saw a pic. of you and Virgil, was he nice to you or was he like I am going to kick your butt or both?
felix stein
Drumcanman- I admire what you are doing. It's way cool. I am working on my speed chops as well. In musical situations how do you conceptualize fast playing? Do you favor subdivisions of 7's, 8's, 9's, 10's? Or do you basically stay away from lightening fast playing in musical situations.... Do you prefer this type of playing for rock or fusion? Have you had to change drum tuning for max projection? I'm just curious -felix felix's band
steve52
dj, is Ron S. and Andy D. in NAMM with you? If so, please ask them to have a friendly debate on W.F.D., in a thread.
bb thomas
Steve52, that would be way cool! You know they are both talking or posting about it in various places, makes sense to me for them to come together at a centralized location. That way we could ask both the same questions and see each's opinion. Great Idea!
vinnie c.
B.B.,I wonder if those drummers at NAMM are discussing this w.f.d. debate. I would lke to know what guys like Freddie Grubber and Jim Chapin think about this issue.
steve52
I think Jim and Freddie should be into the the W.F.D. because the're into tecnique a lot. Freddie helped Dave Weckl a lot.
bb thomas
vinnie, Mr. Chapin is really into the drumometer and actually endorses it and is in there brochure. Freddie, I am not sure about.
dustinracine
The drumometer page im not crazy about but the extreme sport drumming page is very well done.I just wish they'd get my picture up there faster! The w.f.d. and drumometer are great for drumming and drummers and i think will get young people like myself more interested and into drumming as long as kids learn the basics of drumming first and how too be good drummers before they start worrying about the w.f.d. than it's great I don't think any kids are going too all of a sudden start drumming and do nothing but doublestrokes on the drumometer because of they want too be w.f.d. world's fastest drummer because that's near impossible you have too learn how too play drums first you can't just start drumming and do nothing but double kick or double strokes and expect too be world's fastest drummer.Tim,Art,and johnny rabb are great drummers and i cant see someone doing nothing but drumometer exercises and beating them out you must be a great drummer before you can worry about the w.f.d. world's fastest drummer therefore i think the w.f.d.'s great it will get kids interested in drumming and as long as they learn too be drummers before speed demons which i think will be the case than great! bb thomas
DrummerMom, WOW! 13th, Does that mean you are the 13th. Fastest Feet overall? Men and Women? What are you in just female category? Cool!
DrummerMom
bb, I am 13th overall. They don't have categories yet to my knowledge but when I look at the fastest feet rankings I see one adult female listed. I guess that would make that person, who happens to be me fastest currently for just women. BTW I have run 740. I will be interested to see how I improve after I have my baby. I'm due November 7th! P.S. Someone named Cynthia voted for you on the WFD forum to be MR. WFD. ------------------ Lori"DrummerMom"Henderson http://homepages.about.com/drummermom/drummermom/ Lori"DrummerMom"Henderson
