Lee Flier
LOL... yes, pop, it's normal. The only question is why you would think there was something wrong, or that you need to play more fills? http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif You won't fall off the edge of the earth if you let go of your intellect for awhile. In fact it really grounds you and if you do it enough you will find that it really promotes a sense of general well being and sharpens your mind and enhances your creativity. Just go with it, dude. Make a regular habit of it, in fact! That state of being is a huge part of our humanness which our cultural values unfortunately don't support. It's scary to the powers that be, for people to actually have their shit together. So they spread all kinds of ugly rumors, like saying that sex is evil and drummers are morons. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif --Lee
rebonn
There is medication for this, available at your local mental health clinic ;-) Actually I've heard of runners describing this. I've also heard a meter reader describe this. When I run, all I feel is pain. www.blairsdevillestudios.com
djarrett
Hey, Pop! You are experience Groovertia! This is a trance-like state that occurs when drummers get caught up in the inertia of the groove! Nothing wrong with this. It actually harkens back to the days of tribal communications, or Nordic row-drumming (where the Vikings utilized a drummer to clock the rhythm of the row strokes.) I prescribe that you spend no more than 30 minutes a day in this trance for fear that you will turn into the muppet creature ...
