coyote
Just as long as the dwarves have not trod upon it.... certainly it doesn't go to eleven. I used to think I was Libertarian. Until I saw their platform; now I know I'm no more Libertarian than I am RepubliCrat or neoCON or Liberal or Socialist. This ain't no track meet; this is football. Mike Bear
"This one goes to eleven all across the board" When I saw Steve Lawson do a clinic, a few years back here in L.A. he used a smaller Ashdown rig, But not that small. Steve Lawson
Hi Mike, I was using two single 10s though... And my current rig, the AccuGrooves is also two single 10s, and probably a lot lighter than the minirig above... also a lot more expensive, but as they say, you get what you pay for! Gotta love 10s. moot
I love that rig. I would love to have one to just leave at the studio. Hmmmm . . . Honey? "He is to music what Stevie Wonder is to photography." getz76 I have nothing nice to say so . . .

wraub
I find having a great and understanding wife helps, because she supports me unconditionally. I really lucked out here. I also find having a cat is good, because there's no shoes or college to worry about. All this, and I am still not a gear-head. I guess I just need more money. On topic: That Ashdown seems like a neat idea, right in the wheelhouse for smaller gigs. I wonder what's the price? 2 10s plus the head = around 2 feet tall? Could be interesting. Imagine splitting the cabs to different sides of the stage... Peace, wraub I'm a lot more like I am now than I was when I got here.
Fred TBP
I can imagine showing up to a gig with that Ashdown and one of these... http://www.largesound.com/bg01.jpg
wraub
Cool beans, Fred. Perhaps at the next Metallica auditions... But you'd have to also wear the Pokey t-shirt that Ashbory chap has on to get the whole effect, IMO. Peace, wraub I'm a lot more like I am now than I was when I got here. davio
I have a Crate BX-25 that I absolutely hate and if I had any need for a better practice amp right now, I'd replace it. The only thing I use it for is if friends come over and want to play acoustic and I want to play bass instead of strumming along on a git-fiddle. Anyway, more on the subject, mine is 25W in a 1x10 setup. How much better would 65W in 2x10 sound? I'm not very experienced with smaller amps. I went from playing my Milk Crate to my friends Laney that was louder and didn't suck quite as badly to my Bassman 400. I understand that many people around here like a well powered amp into a 2x10 cab but is 65 Watts enough to give you a good sound for a small gig? wraub
I would think it would depend on the venue (size+PA support), the other players/instruments, and the type of music being played. I don't think it would cut it in the band I am playing with at the moment without PA. Peace, wraub I'm a lot more like I am now than I was when I got here. davio
It'd probably kick for a light alt-rock band playing coffee shops around here. Hmmm...the possibilities.
wraub
Yeah, that sounds about right, I would think it would be good in such a situation. Space the speakers widely for full dispersion, could work well. butcherNburn
yep I think it looks real cool. Has anyone played one? I wish they would up the power to about 100-150 watts though. One great advantage would be putting the cabs in different positions (both on the floor|1 left, 1 right etc.). It would look so cool with a mini-Marshall stack and a junior drum kit. We could be huge! If you think my playing is bad, you should hear me sing!
