Just as long as the dwarves have not trod upon it.... certainly it doesn't go to eleven.

I used to think I was Libertarian. Until I saw their platform; now I know I'm no more Libertarian than I am RepubliCrat or neoCON or Liberal or Socialist.

This ain't no track meet; this is football.

"This one goes to eleven all across the board"

When I saw Steve Lawson do a clinic, a few years back here in L.A. he used a smaller Ashdown rig, But not that small.

I love that rig. I would love to have one to just leave at the studio. Hmmmm . . .

I have nothing nice to say so . . .

I love it too. It would be a great addition to my classroom...play it while my 5th graders are out at recess...use it to accompany myself singing the names of the 50 states during Social Studies to the tune of "Turkey In The Straw"...

Funny, every time I've been single I've also been broke! :D

I find having a great and understanding wife helps, because she supports me unconditionally.

I really lucked out here.

I also find having a cat is good, because there's no shoes or college to worry about. :D

All this, and I am still not a gear-head.

I guess I just need more money.

On topic: That Ashdown seems like a neat idea, right in the wheelhouse for smaller gigs.

I wonder what's the price?

2 10s plus the head = around 2 feet tall? Could be interesting. Imagine splitting the cabs to different sides of the stage...

Cool beans, Fred. Perhaps at the next Metallica auditions... :)

But you'd have to also wear the Pokey t-shirt that Ashbory chap has on to get the whole effect, IMO.

I have a Crate BX-25 that I absolutely hate and if I had any need for a better practice amp right now, I'd replace it. The only thing I use it for is if friends come over and want to play acoustic and I want to play bass instead of strumming along on a git-fiddle.

Anyway, more on the subject, mine is 25W in a 1x10 setup. How much better would 65W in 2x10 sound? I'm not very experienced with smaller amps. I went from playing my Milk Crate to my friends Laney that was louder and didn't suck quite as badly to my Bassman 400.

I understand that many people around here like a well powered amp into a 2x10 cab but is 65 Watts enough to give you a good sound for a small gig?

I would think it would depend on the venue (size+PA support), the other players/instruments, and the type of music being played.

I don't think it would cut it in the band I am playing with at the moment without PA.

Yeah, that sounds about right, I would think it would be good in such a situation. Space the speakers widely for full dispersion, could work well.

yep I think it looks real cool. Has anyone played one? I wish they would up the power to about 100-150 watts though. One great advantage would be putting the cabs in different positions (both on the floor|1 left, 1 right etc.).

It would look so cool with a mini-Marshall stack and a junior drum kit. We could be huge!

If you think my playing is bad, you should hear me sing!

The Mini Stack is going for $270 with free shipping.

Gotta get the M.K. 5 first.
