SteveC
The Alembic site is evil. I try to stay away. I can feel the G.A.S. building in me already.
getz out
That actually doesn't do much for me. That shirt rocks, though.
...
Their featured bass archive is a very, very dangerous thing to look through. There are some very, very nice looking hunks 'o wood in there. It's NOT a healthy thing to look at.

Tenstrum
Can't say that I'm all that crazy about the way it looks. But that's kinda like judging a book by it's cover. I would like to try it out. Think he'd let my borrow it for awhile? Tenstrum "Paranoid? Probably. But just because you're paranoid doesn't mean there isn't an invisible demon about to eat your face." coyote
UNHEALTHY yet beautiful. http://www3.alembic.com/img/kent_frontviewupm.jpg I used to think I was Libertarian. Until I saw their platform; now I know I'm no more Libertarian than I am RepubliCrat or neoCON or Liberal or Socialist. This ain't no track meet; this is football. jeremy c
Coyote, I know Kent, the owner of that bass. Maybe he'll lend it to me. I usually wait until late at night in a darkened room to view the Alembic gallery. It seems more appropriate. Free download of my cd!.
doc taz
Cool, but I just want two of Jummy Johnson's 5 strings. Fretted and Fretless. Duncan pickups and electronics, with a passive mode for when I forget about the 9v batteries. Perhaps a purple see thru finish on the fretted would be grand. That would be more than enough Alembic pr0n for me! sevenstring.org profile my flickr page

davio
Somebody...anybody...tell me that I'm not the only one that would have to wear a bib to keep from drooling all over this bass . I had never even seen an 8 string (non octaves) like this until a day or two ago and I doubt that I'd be physically able to play a monster like this. I have no idea why but I find this to be one of the most beautiful (albeit somewhat surrealistic) works of art I've ever seen. I dunno, maybe I just have overly eccentric taste for a 20-year-old coupled with an affinity for quilted maple.

davio
Speaking of quilted maple ...I'm not a huge fan of the shape but it's a gorgeous piece of work regardless.
silver32012
All of these basses are truly works of art. They look so beautiful, I'm not completely sure if I would want to actually play a bass like that and contaminate it with my touch!! I should cover the walls in my room with pictures of those beauties.
