Snowdog79
Mmmmmm....gear lust....and I'm getting a new bass sometime this winter.... So the review of the G&L Tribute L-2500 Premium in the May 2004 Bass Player caught my eye, and I've been pondering it ever since. I know Tribute is the foreign made "cost-conscious" version of their venerable line of basses, but does anyone have any opinion as to how they stack up against their American-made brethren? And if anyone here has a G&L, how happy are you with your purchase? Is the B string nice and tight? Are there some killer tones lurking within all the knobs and switches, or just lots of merely okay ones? Do you get more chicks playing a G&L? ~Jeremy Hull hullbass@gmail.com www.myspace.com/Jeremyhull www.myspace.com/cowpunkHolyMoly

Do you get more chicks playing a G&L? 1.) i think personally they are rreally great basses. i am a four string player myself, so i dunno about the B-string. 2.) the knobs and switches are really a good a kewl feature (once u figure out what they do, lol). 3.) chicks dig bassists, don't worrie bro, just as long as ones in ur hands, welcome to the Low down. peace -BGO 5 words you should live by... Snowdog79
Thanks for the info! And the "chick" thing was just a throwaway joke that leaked out of my head due to the lateness of the hour...my apologies to any ladies on this board if it was in any way offensive. And, more to the point, I just convinced a pretty cool chick to marry me, so I don't have to worry about that angle any more. At least until she wises up and realizes she's doomed herself to a life of poverty by marrying a musician.... Besides, if girls were all I was after, I would have been a drummer ~Jeremy Hull hullbass@gmail.com www.myspace.com/Jeremyhull www.myspace.com/cowpunkHolyMoly
Bass_god_offspring
Besides, if girls were all I was after, I would have been a drummer lol. if girls were all you were after, you would have bought a guitar, learned "smells like team spirit" by Nirivana, and calle yourself a guitairst. if you wanted to have hundreds of friends, and have relitives in every corner of the world, you would have become a drummer. if you wanted to have a head the size of the Pacific ocean....you would have become a lead singer. -BGO 5 words you should live by... Snowdog79
Why, the loads of money, of course! Which we promptly blow on a flashy new 14 string bass with a custom Moosewood body and Positronic pickups. And then the lead singer tells us he only wants us to play a Fender P in his band. ~Jeremy Hull hullbass@gmail.com www.myspace.com/Jeremyhull www.myspace.com/cowpunkHolyMoly
lug
The Premium Tributes have an Ash body and exact same electronics as the "real" G&L's. The neck is not the same (G&L's have a bi-cut, split down the middle neck) and the bridge is made overseas but is supposed to be an exact replica. I know a few people that have bought them and they are thrilled with them. You can stop now -jeremyc STOP QUOTING EVERY THING I SAY!!! -Bass_god_offspring lug, you should add that statement to you signature.-Tenstrum I'm not sure any argument can top lug's. - Sweet Willie
