Mr. Phil
My girlfriend and I will be attending the Primus concert at Radio City Musichall on June 22nd. I was thinking that the show isnt until 8pm, that we could make a whole day out of it. Maybe stop by Joey G's if you guys would like to make arrangements, or we can just play around at GC for a while. And if any of you want to come to the show with us, thats cool also. Or if no one wants to, thats cool too. just post your interests here. _Sweet Willie_
Sorry, y'all, I can't make it. FYI, Marcus Miller has a couple of NYC gigs at that time: B.B. King's Blues Club on 6/21 and 6/22. getz out
S-UU, Thanks for the assist in the blatant gig-spam. Chancer - me on bass. Radiohead-ish originals (check the link in my sig). No cover at Luna, how much could you lose? Papalegba - me on bass with a new act. Killer vocals - soulful (imagine if the Black Crowes met up with the Counting Crows). It will be "unplugged-ish". Two acoustic guitars and me on bass. Cottonmouth DN - dead sexy guitar player. What else do you need?
_Sweet Willie_
Papalegba...hmmmmm, pronounciation on that one? Papa-leg-ba? Papal-eg-ba? Pap-aleg-ba? Personally I like the second one. It makes me think of Scrooge's disdain for Roman Catholic dairy cuisine. "Papal egg?! Bah!" Back on topic: Les Claypool and Marcus Miller in NYC on 6/22 -- what's the chance they'll do an "after party" gig together? I'd travel for the "Panther/Johnny Was a Race Car Driver" medley. Mr. Phil
Well me and you are coming from long island, so maybe we can take the train in together. I think everyone else is already in the city, and maury is in hoboken. I guess meeting at Penn would be ok, but it might be out of the way for the people already in the city. The other two times we met at Guitar Center (48th i believe?) and we went from there. Thing is, I have to be at the Primus concert ideally around 7pm no later than 7:30. So if you all want to go music store hopping, or come in late, and stay a GC for a few hours then have dinner around 5ish, that would be the best probably. Lets wait until the allmighty Shecky has to say. http://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/blue.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/black.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/fuscia.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/grey.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/orange.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/purple.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/red.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/yellow.JPG

The Fonz
just a thought, june 22nd is a tuesday. a lot of the nyc lowdowners are suburbanites, and the rest have day jobs, families, etc. this will probably be a small gathering, especially since you guys have a concert that falls smack in the middle of the prime gathering-for-a-coupla-drinks hours. Eeeeeehhhhhhhhh.

You probably can, but then you will probably have 3rd mezzanine all the way in the back Go to Primussucks.com and go to tours and check out ticketmaster. I'd reccommend paying the extra $10 or so for better seats. I got 2nd mezzanine 3rd row to the first section right off center. Those are OK seats. And that was the best available last week or whenever I bought em. Mr. Phil
OK, change of plans, I have somethings to do before I go to the show in the afternoon, so maybe we can arrange a larger LDL meeting on the next big vacation or maybe if someone is coming in some weekend, we can all go. *note to self - weekdays are not good for people who work http://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/blue.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/black.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/fuscia.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/grey.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/orange.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/purple.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/red.JPGhttp://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/dots/yellow.JPG
