Pernax
Looks like a bling-blinged version of an Ibanez BTB body with a J+MM p/u config, flavoured with the Iceman tail. Could be cool, could be not, hard to say with just one picture... -Pernax (up to 200 characters) You may use UBBCode in your signature.

Jay Pierce
I've played a RootBeer flavored Core at a local shop. Very solid. Too piano-bassy for me. I'd like to taste test the Pheonix, though.

g.
I swear I'd be dicing my palm on that bridgeware though, if it was a long high-energy party gig. It's bad enough bleeding all over the instrument from the cuticle/'nails area...* * though I've settled down, I still like to go there sometimes ; } . Kooky Mogessi
I got to play one of those a little after Christmas and although my opinion isnt the most professional i liked it. If i would have had the money i would have bought it but unfortunatly(?) i had gotten my new amp out of layaway the week before. PickPunk
I like the Element's bridge the best. The huge extended metal flames on the phoenix, kore and chaos models don't appeal to me. You should get one, because even if you don't like the bass, you can take off the bridge and use it as a weapon
g.
That's the other thing: the bodies are BORING when taken in the context the bridge seems to be working at. They look like knockoffs of Ibanez, Schecter, or a few others. Hey, if you are going to get wild, get wild like some of the hardcore luthiers! At least look like you've seen some gothic or some Giger! Don't just tack a sharp-edges bridge on some bodies that are certified public accountants in a world of bat eaters!* ; } *all apologies to getz76, who I wish lived over here to advise me in matters financial ; } . bubba upright
Just an update... The store I work in just got 3 of these things in & I'll give you a quick review (if ya care): I played the one pictured here as well as the same model 5er. I personally liked the action. It was medium-high from the factory. The bridge scared me, but the edges are smoothed enough to not cause serious injury. Interestingly, it had a chrome plated nut (which I guess takes the zero-fret thing to the extreme.) Open strings sounded pretty consistent with fretted ones & I guess that was the idea. The neck shape was very comfy and had an oil finish (smoove!) Unplugged, this bass sounded pretty good, but... My only real disappointment was the pickups & electronics. The neck pickup was cool, lots of warm tone that was well defined, but the bridge p'up sounded waaaaaay thin. I'm usually a bridge p'up guy, but I dug the neck p'up soloed. Pots were scratchy and loose (easily fixed) and the 3 tone controls didn't color the sound like I would expect. The street prices ranged from $450.00 to $600. Overall, a very servicable bass & with a pair of replacement pickups, could be a good bass. I might even get one if they tone down the bridge a bit. Just thought someone might be interested. g.
I should dig back in this thread instead of being lazy, bbur - - But what's the bridge pickup - a humbucker? It's possible it's wired in parallel. it'd get fatter if wired in series, might be the trick. .

I was surprised at how much I liked the good things about this bass, with the preconception that this company was going for style rather than substance. "Study, study, study...or BONK BONK bad kids!"
