Dude - you are a great player!

I was in London the summer of 1980 traveling with a choral group.

It was freezing cold, but really cool.

It is hot here in Miami, like way too hot.

Anyway Peace Out.... and Best regards.

Hey Mongo,

Nice to see another S.Floridian here. How's the BIZ in the Miami/Dade area? We had a slow off-season up here in West Palm, but the snowbirds are on their way back down, and the clubs/parties should pick up.

Welcome!

Jim

Yep, welcome Mongo, and hang around for awhile. There's alot of cool and knowledgable people that frequent this forum. It has been a great learning experience for me.

Jim -

Summer is slow and the pay is low.

But the playing is fun as Im sure you know.

I have been working on songs in my studio and did a cool live radio performance with my band "Friar Tuck" on WLRNs Michael Stock Acoustic show a few weeks back.

Check out my site and come out to a gig.

Let me know where you are playing so i can come see you as well.

Nice to meet a fellow player in the TRI County Area.

Best Regards, MongoN1

Well, after almost 30 years away from playing (it's amazing what a career, marriage and kids can do to your free time) I picked up a bass to rediscover a piece of me that has been missing for a long time.

Nothing super special....a Squier Vintage 70's bass and a Crate BT50. Just enough I hope to recapture the enjoyment of playing bass.

Looking forward to catching-up up on wht's happening using this forum.

Cool Phil-

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I probablly need to put some stuff there that shows off the more over the top side of my playing, but when you get to be our age you appreciate the simple stuff more. At least I do.

As far as the drumbers go - all I can say is they must all come from the same part of the gene pool. nudge, nudge, say no more.

Belatedly:

http://www.myspace.com/cft3 tells you all about me. Let me also take this opportunity to post the only pic I have so far of myself playing bass, taken just the other night:

I feel compelled to add that those jeans are a whole lot baggier than what I actually need! They're left over from a fatter period in my life...

South Florida Bass Dude here.

Playing gigs and getting down in the Deep South.

Funk, Jazz, Hep Hop, Latin grooves, we got it all.

Just thought i would introduce myself.

I love to talk gear and have amps bass guitars for any need.

Peace to all practitioners of bass.

Chad: You're playing a lefty bass, but there's two righty basses against the back wall. Do you play them all or is there another bass player in your band?

That picture was taken at a jam at a local pub. The P-Bass hanging on the wall is decoration (a waste!) and the other one belongs to another bassist who was there.

Chad - Did you know that Chuck Norris is the only human alive who is tough enough to slam a revolving door?

Mongo......

Yup. Also, Chuck Norris doesn't read books; he stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

Chuck Norris once spent a night in a convent. Exactly nine months later, all the nuns gave birth to baby boys. Those boys grew up to be the '72 Dolphins.

Welcome, Tom from Colonial Heights!

Before he goes to bed at night the boogeyman checks his closet for Chuck Norris.

We joke about CN (and the info is that he enjoys it), but he has accomplished some remarkable achievements in his life beyond just being in phenomenal physical condition at SIXTY-SEVEN years of age. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Norris I really admire him...
