Mark Zeger
I found a used MIM active 5 string Jazz in a store for $350 including a gig bag. It's black w/rosewood board, tortoise pickguard. Not the color I might have chosen, but for a good deal it pays to be flexible. It's in very good shape, all stock, no fret or neck wear, no paint chips or buckle marks, no major scratches. The only sign of wear are a few discolored pickguard screws (some are still clean). I'm going to the store to play it later today. How can I date the age of the bass from the serial number? I didn't write it down or I would have posted it here. $350 seems like a fair deal, isn't it?
IanSanX
I'm no expert, but I would say that the $350 is a good idea. they are about $500 used, I believe. I would go for it.
Mike H.
The rule of thumb in retail is generally used equipment sells for 50-60% of the current sale price. $350 sounds about what we'd sell it for in our store, and is a fair price. Condition also comes into play. http://www.identity5.net
