Tedster Posted June 20, 2001 Share Posted June 20, 2001 I just bought a early 70s vintage Ampeg VT22 100 watt 2x12 tube guitar combo. The thing is quite loud, and actually quite clean. I'm just wondering if any of you fine folks had ever tried one for bass...if it could (or rather should) be done realistically for small gig settings. The speakers are the weak link, they will blow out from over-excursion if driven hard. I would not recommend it unless you are only playing at very low volumes.
