lovesinger
As I continue assessing main board units for my project studio and location recording jobs, I ran across this model, one in Nashville one on eBay. With the usual caveats in place, what's your take on the board's sound quality, computer-controled features, and other. Thanks. This is the Nashville mixer. Mats Olsson.
FWIW, I am a little familiar with the CMC. I have not owned one, but have used it a few times (long time ago...). First thought: It is kind of plastic, not very much metal visible. Second thought: It is not very new, late eighties is my guess. Third thought: all that "automated" routing, sounds like a good idea but you can't hook up a lot of gear until it's full, what you will end up with is a routing system + a patchbay (probably). Sonic quality? Honestly, I don't remember, it was so long ago and my references back then was not up to today's standards. FAIK, it might sound quite good - or not. I still relate to that mixer as the "plastic" A&H. Personally, I'd rather buy a Soundtracs Topaz, shouldn't be very much expensive. But they do have some of "that" sound. /Mats http://www.lexam.net/peter/carnut/man.gif What do we want? Procrastination! When do we want it? Later! lovesinger
Thanks matts. The A&H site claims the only difference between the mark I & II versions of it are a plastic plate under I and a metal one under II. But I trust any impressions of a past user over the maker's copy. I appreciate you. -- Music has miracle potential --
