eightyeightkeys
Just curious at what volume mastering engineers listen. Due to our Fletcher-Munson hearing curve I would think that listening at fairly loud volumes (85db+)would give a truer picture of what could be required of a given mix. I was keyboardist on a project at a major studio and I was very surprised at the volume the engineer mixed at. Really loud ! On NS10's ! Talk about harsh. That was mixing volume (for one engineer) but I would assume that mastering could be quite similar. Hard on the ears though. eightyeightkeys
