walters
What are these saturation plug ins? Are they overdrive preamps with a Ceiling limiter on them? How can they Saturate the tracks without overloading or clipping the track or audio? Whats the function of the saturation plug ins? Whats the block Diagram inside a saturation plug in ? is it a overdrive preamp with a ceiling limiter?

In my opinion they can't,and your description of them seems accurate but they don't neccessarily have to clip, but add digital distortion algorithms which is almost as bad in my opinion. You can however make things louder without peaking with a brickwall type limiter, but there goes your dynamics and the quality of your overall EQ. teh dri
very soft distortion with a poor mans limiting algorithm i thought... ive used most of them out there, from the good old Magneto to even abusing the Antares Mic Modeller. Most of the freeware ones or ones made with SynthEdit are completely crap, but they are a particular tool for a particular sound... doesnt do much for dynamics though... Keysking
It helps to put the tracks in a waterproof zip-lok bag before putting them under the water... that way they are immersed but not overly saturated. (that one was for you where021)
