British Honorary Consul

The British Consulate in Charlotte was opened in May 1994 and covers the whole of North Carolina. It is the successor to the Honorary Consulate which existed in Wilmington from 1797 to 1945. The Honorary Consul is Michael Teden Esq., OBE.

Purely consular questions involving British Citizens (e.g. protection, advice and assistance, registration of births and deaths) are dealt with by the:

British Consulate-General, Atlanta

Georgia Pacific Centre - Suite 3400

133 Peachtree Street N.E.

Atlanta GA 30303

Tel: (404) 954-7700

Fax: (404) 954 7702

The Honorary Consul in Charlotte will give all possible local help in cases of real emergency.

British Citizens who require passports must contact the British Embassy in Washington, although the Consul in Charlotte can supply all necessary application forms and information.

Enquiries about visas for Britain and British Dependent Territories should be addressed to the Visa Office:

British Consulate-General, New York

845 Third Avenue,

New York

NY 10022

Telephone (212) 745 0202

"For instance" is not proof.
