Dave Bryce
I just ordered a “Quadio” version of Black Sabbath’s Paranoid album. Hi-res version of the original Quad mix (along with a hi-res stereo file as well). Anybody else heard anything about/own anything in this format? dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network
Dave Bryce
Ugh. ”Quadio” mix does not sound so good on War Pigs. Vocal placement is the main problem. Volume is too low, placement is a bit undefined…and they dipped Ozzy in waaay too much reverb. 🫤 Hi-res stereo mix sounds much better. Paranoid, Iron Man, etc sound better than War Pigs - vocals are much better…but War Pigs is the star of the record for me. dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network
Philbo King
When I set up our living room for 4.1 quad, this is the first thing I played. It's the original Alan Parsons 1973 discrete quad mix. An hour very well spent!
Dave Bryce
I love DSOTM in surround. I have the SACD surround version. Got Wish You Were Here and Animals as well. 😎 dB 1 ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network
