Primarily, how easy is it to setup and use file and print sharing from a Mac on a Windows 2000 network and how permissions come into play? Thanks! The Soundsmith Posted September 10, 2004 Share Posted September 10, 2004 I use a Mac with 4 PCs on a music network - all the files are easily transferred between system (XP) by creating shared foleds ono the PCs. But I cannot get the printer to work with either my old Siemans print server or the new Linksys. Both companies say they "don't support Mac" and that's that, though I believe my PC guru could get it working ifwe ever had mutual time to work on it. On my old system, I solved the printer problem by using the printer's parallel port for the network, and the USB port for the Mac, but the new server uses , and I haven't gotten around to tryng a 2-way port at the printer to see if that will work.
