Nektar CS12 - it’s alive

Recommended Posts

As a Logic user since v.8, my muscle memory recoils from this thing, a little. I think I'd have to be a lot closer to pro to justify shifting gears to that extent. That's only a subjective view, because it didn't appear casually. Logic seems neck-in-neck with Ableton Live for DAW supremacy. It makes sense to want a better option than mousing. I like the practical workflow it seems to offer, but the golden apple is being able to talk with 3rd-party plug-ins. That's previously been a hit-or-miss feature to some extent. This feels a bit like a mini-Raven in hardware form. I plan to sniff the demos carefully. 🤔

I mentioned this in the NAMM show report. I was very interested in their choices of color assignments for effects. I've initiated a dialog with them about  effects categories and colors, and offered a few suggestions. I think the colorization aspect has potential beyond the CS12.
