eric
Apologies if this has been discussed and it's a bit tangential...I am a huge fan of music documentaries and this one is excellent. The band had its annual river retreat this past weekend and we watched this one twice. Then I came home and watched it a third time (!) with my wife. If you love music from the '70s and '80s, you'll recognize the names from hundreds of albums...Leland Sklar, Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel, Waddy Wachtel. Highly recommended! There's not as much of a keyboard focus here, aside from Carole King on piano and another guy later on...plus a section on how digital instruments changed the industry (Synclavier, DX-7, LinnDrum, etc.).
Baldwin Funster
They need to put someone like Lee Sklars name and face on this. If I hadn't happened to see an interview with Lee I would have never known about this band or who was in it and would likely not ever clicked a link having to do with something called Immediate Family. 1 Quote FunMachine. zxcvbnm098
This was done by Denny Tesdesco, who's the son of the great Tommy Tesdesco and the one who brought us "The Wrecking Crew" documentary. This could have been called "The Wrecking Crew Two".......I got to see a screening of this before it came out. As Eric mentioned, it's great. What an amazing era it was.....
Docbop
They are a modern version of The Section from the 70's which was Russ Kunkel, Lee Sklar, Danny Kortchmar, and Craig Doerge on keyboards.
