Tim Minchin can make me laugh before he says a word!

This is worth 8 minutes of anyone's time https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=740084436893461

Similarly, Minchin's song "White Wine In the Sun" can make anyone cry. Highly spiritual atheist.

A group like keyboardTEK will set you up with books and sounds so the musicians can focus on what's really important

I suspect that's what my daughter's school is using. It's interesting: their production is employing members of the music dept, peripatetic instrument teachers and other freelancers - as well as students - so I see it as a wonderful opportunity and hono(u)r that she was selected.

Live - hardware.  No desire to get fiddly with any rack, midi complications, or software.  I used an ipad for a while and don't like relying on it.

Home - software (other than a controller).  No way I'm ever going back to wiring, patch changes, sysex, multitimbral modes and outboard gear.

Easy :)

The one downside to this--purchasing new stuff generally means it only gets used at gigs OR at home, so it's harder to rationalize purchases :)  I frankly don't need any more midi controllers so that argument really doesn't work--though if something with poly AT came along that was reasonable to gig (not the 62 pound Montage M8) that might qualify.

I mean … what the hell.  I said I play hardware and I do play hardware form factor.  But I really play software on a Korg Linux computer.
