KuruPrionz Posted October 15, 2023 Share Posted October 15, 2023 Last night I saw Sona Jobarteh in concert at a local venue - the Blue Room. Great music and performance. Sona plays kora and sings, she's top notch at both. She played a bit of nylon string guitar as well. Drummer, percussionist, bassist and guitarist, tight as you'll ever hear and fun. Several sing-a-long moments (in the language of Gambia, which she taught us on the spot) and lots of audience clap percussion. She engaged everybody and it was both fun and beautiful. Keep an eye out, if she brings her show your way go see it! This video is 4 pieces and Sona is sitting. Last night there was dynamic drummer and most of the band including Sona were standing. Kora looks cumbersome to stand and play but she did it very well. Quote It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.
