OT: using ChatGPT as a starting point for lyrics!

Recommended Posts

If you've ever fumbled around for a starting point with lyrics, technology to the rescue!

ChatGPT can come up with some fun lyrics as a starting point, some of them quite good!

Go to chat.openai.com and create a free account.  Type in what you're looking for, and it'll take a shot.

EDIT: the site is experiencing heavy volume, so you may need to be patient.

Here are some examples to give you a flavor?

---------

Write a song lyric about learning to love and accept everything around you, in the style of Paul Simon

Verse 1:
Once I was blinded by my fear
I couldn't see the beauty near
But now I've learned to open my eyes
And let the light of love inside

Chorus:
I'm learning to love and accept
Everything around me, in every respect
I'm letting go of my doubts and my pain
And embracing the beauty that surrounds me like a chain

Verse 2:
I used to judge the world around me
But now I see the beauty in every being
I'm letting go of my narrow-minded ways
And opening up to a brighter day

Chorus:
I'm learning to love and accept
Everything around me, in every respect
I'm letting go of my fears and my doubts
And embracing the love that life's all about

Bridge:
It's not always easy, but it's worth the fight
To let go of the darkness and step into the light
I'm learning to love and accept everything
And it's bringing a joy that I've never known before

Chorus:
I'm learning to love and accept
Everything around me, in every respect
I'm letting go of my fears and my doubts
And embracing the love that life's all about.

Write a song about defeating the fear monster in the style of Bruce Springsteen

Verse 1:
I used to be ruled by fear It would hold me back, year after year
But now I'm breaking free from its grasp
And I won't let it rule my life, no more at last

Chorus:
I'm gonna face the fear monster down
I won't let it win, I won't back down
I'm standing strong and tall I won't be scared of anything at all

Verse 2:
The fear monster tries to scare me
But I won't let it get the best of me
I'm taking control, I'm calling the shots
I won't let fear hold me back, no matter what

Chorus:
I'm gonna face the fear monster down

I won't let it win, I won't back down

I'm standing strong and tall I won't be scared of anything at all

Bridge:

I'm not alone, I've got my friends
Together we're unstoppable, our love never ends
We'll face the fear monster head on
And we won't let it bring us down, no, not a single one

Chorus: We're gonna face the fear monster down We won't let it win, we won't back down We're standing strong and tall We won't be scared of anything at all.

And, if you're looking for the next Surefire Country Hit, try this?

Write a song about trucks, beer, pretty girls and Saturday night, in country style.

Verse 1:
I'm cruising down the highway In my pickup truck
With a six-pack of beer And a pocket full of luck

Chorus:
It's Saturday night
And I'm feeling right
With trucks, beer, and pretty girls In my sights

Verse 2:
I'm heading to the honky tonk
To dance the night away
With a beer in my hand
And a pretty girl to sway

Chorus:
It's Saturday night
And I'm feeling right
With trucks, beer, and pretty girls In my sights

Bridge:
I'm living for the moment In this wild and free life
With my truck and my beer And a pretty girl by my side

Chorus:
It's Saturday night
And I'm feeling right
With trucks, beer, and pretty girls In my sights.

Have fun, everyone!!!

I’m thinking it’s time to re-read Kurt Vonnegut’s Player Piano…

Speaking of.... I have been reading a lot about the future lately. Within a generation anything considered middle class will likely be reduced to lower class. There will only be upper class managing automation with lower class handling the most menial of tasks which cannot be assigned to automation like maintenance of that which cannot be automated. All of the wannabe upper class currently residing in the middle class will be cleaning their own toilets and only if they have a toilet to call their own. But remember to have a nice day.

Maybe…

I’ll leave the prognosticating up to smarter folks than me. In my Dad’s day they expected us to be flying gyrocopters to work.

The positive here is that we’ll always have plenty of songs about trucks, girls and beer!
