Ivan May Posted September 8, 2022 Share Posted September 8, 2022 An indie rock/alternative rock band from England, Blood Red Shoes put out their debut album, Box Of Secrets, in 2008, and have since then been considered to be one of indie rock’s greatest secrets. The duo have been likened to The White Stripes—but whilst Jack and Meg channel the blues, Blood Red Shoes draws on a more indie rock sound influenced by Sonic Youth, Nirvana and Faith No More. Laura Mary Carter is a wonderful guitarist and vocalist, with a powerful soprano that reminds me of Kate Bush and St. Vincent for some reason. Laura Mary Carter also plays a really cool bunch of guitars, including a Fender Telecaster and a Gibson SG. I hope you guys enjoy this music.
