Joe Muscara Posted August 30, 2021 Share Posted August 30, 2021 It's amazing how most of the great rock drummers of the 60's started in jazz (even Ringo had a bit of Big Band in him). It makes sense when you think about it, since jazz was the music they grew up with back then. I actually wonder if that's why later versions of rock lost the swing, since those kids grew up with much straighter rock instead of the swing of jazz.
