-Is there a greater symbol of rock & roll than the shot of Clapton's, Lennon's & Keith Richards's feet all tapping in unison?

-What's Keith Richards say to Jagger when he forgets to hand KR his guitar?

 

-What's with poor Brian Jones's shaking hands? OK, the left hands maybe doing vibrato...but the right?

 

-Who's got the best/worst mascara: Mick, Keith, Brian?

 

-When did Richards take off his shoes?

 

-I can understand Jagger having that faux tattoo of the devil on his chest but what's with the drawing of John Lennon (?) on his left shoulder?

-Which of Allen Klein's relatives is Robin Klein?

 

-Is that really Mick Taylor above Jagger's right shoulder during the final sing-along?

 

-What's Lennon really saying in his introduction of the Stones?

 

-What's a "French camera engineer"?

 

-There are at least three cameras on the shoot but only two camera ops credited; how bad would you feel if you were the other guy?

 

-Post production lasted from 1989~1994...what took so long?

LOL... I think that's more than 20, but great post! :D Isn't that an incredible little slice of history?

 

To answer your last question, believe it or not the Stones didn't want to put it out because they'd been up for like 3 days by the time they played, that's how long the shoot went on, and they didn't feel their performance was up to par. They felt the Who had upstaged them. Of course, this was 1968 and neither the Stones nor the Who nor Beatles nor pretty much any of those guys could do any wrong, what an amazing year for rock'n'roll. So the Stones shelved the footage and didn't dust it off for lo those many years. Newfangled film restoration techniques helped too, which didn't exist prior to the 90's.

 

I love that film, am so glad it finally was let loose. It was almost impossible to find even as a bootleg.

That is indeed the intial reason for the delay, LF, but I was wondering why the post-production took 5 years (from 1989~1994).

 

& what is a "French camera tech"?
