Markyboard
My pc Logitech mouse has been driving me nuts for the last few days. When I try to drag something it often selects. Or double selects causing even more problems. I opened it up to do a visual inspection but so far nothing strikes me as glaringly obvious. I'd appreciate any help in this matter:
Mike Rivers
Oh - I thought this would be about mouse poo in your mouse. I buy cheap optical mice, about $4 at my local Micro Center store. When they start missing or doubling clicks, I buy a new one. Yours looks like a mechanical mouse, maybe one of those expensive gaming ones, and probably just needs a thorough cleaning. The good ones are repairable, my cheap ones go in the trash after salvaging the cable because I have a box full of cables and partial cables that I dip into once or twice every couple of years. KuruPrionz
Value of personal labor vs cost of a different mouse equation can only be calculated by the provider of personal labor. The only good contact cleaner I own sometimes makes plastic sort of gooey so I can't recommend it. Open it up to the extent possible and blast it out with canned air, there may be a small chunk of foreign debris that's impeding contact (or causing it). Good luck!!!! KuruPrionz
Also, keep your mousing surfaces clean!!!! Toss old mouse pad and get new one, or if no mouse pad, clean the top surface of your desk often. Funk is everywhere! Doerfler
Ok, for those who don't know, the cat's name is Bunker and spends long periods of quality time in Mark's studio on a daily basis.
KuruPrionz
I've always packed my mice with copious amounts of hair, you can comb your hair brush (or your pet's) to get starter hair. It makes the mouse run quieter. And nobody get's my pretend to be serious humor either. Quote It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is. Anderton
And nobody get's my pretend to be serious humor either. Well I did assume your intent and Marky's was humorous, but these days, you never know. With stupid dust being sprinkled all over the country in massive quantities, I was concerned some it may have fallen into your airspace. Notes_Norton
Just lay off the Rogaine. If that doesn't work, try Nair. David Emm
HA, Craig said: "With stupid dust being sprinkled all over the country..." I know that dust all too well. For decades, I've been vacuuming it off of myself when others hurl it overhanded, as is so common. There is "sometimes" a 2nd run to vac up the Stupid I put there myself. I propose "Stupid Dust" as a new KC term for the more egregious moments of Duh. BTW, I bought several wired Mac mice with the sealed opto-bottom, so built-up goo is quite rare. I'm very pleased with the model and just ordered a custom XPhraze GUI mouse pad for my own Xmas fun. XPhraze was my first softsynth, my first synth-death because the new Macs would not run it and the synth that all but defined the feature set of modern ones in its arena. It was so ahead of its time that it sold a whopping 200 units (hence no upgrade to the new OS) and was reframed to become Nexus, basically. My tiny synth-heart still aches over it. Markyboard
I suspect this mouse should be good to go now for a while. It took 8 years for this to become a problem. And in case you missed out I found spawn of Bunker and Mima in my 11 year old PC3-x just a few weeks ago changing out the display.
