KevinOnKeys
Hi all. I haven"t used Kurzweil boards since 1999. Now I have a board I really like overall, the PC4, but it is completely bewildering when it comes to programming. Tried and true programming strategies like finding multis that are already similar to what I am trying to create and using them either as a template or a point of reference (which has worked perfectly for me on Korg, Roland, Yamaha, and Casio platforms) isn"t getting me anywhere. If I had hair to pull out, it would be in a pile at my feet! The lack of tutorials, forums, and documentation (because it"s fairly new) is exacerbating the problem. I have figured out a lot of what initially confused me, but not enough. I would truly appreciate anyone with insights into this programming environment/architecture who reaches out to me. I am not a total noob, but progress on this device has been painfully slow. Thanks in advance!

Jim Alfredson
The PC4 is very similar to the Forte. There are extensive videos on YouTube on how to program Multis and such on the Forte. The button presses may be different but the concepts are the same. The learning curve is a little steep but once you understand it, the Forte / PC4 is extremely quick to program. What exactly are you trying to do? Quote Keep it greazy! B3tles - Soul Jazz THEO - Prog Rock
felis
Depends what you're trying to do. Start with the Musicians Guide, from here, if you haven't already: http://kurzweil.com/product/pc4/downloads/ If you just want to set up a simple multi, up to 4 parts, you never have to leave the overview page - p. 7-3 in the manual. Hit multi, scroll to a zone, select a sound, set a key range, set panning, set volume. Repeat for other zones. Done. All on one page. To set controllers and other parameters, it can go about as deep as you dare, but the basics are like most other boards.
