Kayvon
UDO Super 6 Binaural Polysynth [video:youtube] Like a spiritual successor to the Jupiter/Juno but with SSMs and some very interesting FPGA & Binaural tech. It sounds amazing over my laptop speakers and the design layout looks very inviting. We're really spoilt for choice for synths in 2019. This one looks like the bees knees for me. Tusker
Yes, I don't see why the AT buss is the same as the mod buss, but that synth sounds incredible. What a filter! Dave Rossum is brilliant. Note from a pedant: I don't think that synths can truly sing when they are piped into a single box speaker. I think that multi-directional or multiple sound sources are necessary to captivate a live audience, just as they were necessary for the Hammond's Leslie and for pipe organ installations. Mark Schmieder
Of course there's also the new IK Uno Drum Machine. I guess there's not much interest here as no one mentioned it yet. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/unodrum/index.php?p=info https://www.kvraudio.com/news/ik-announces-uno-drum-analog-pcm-drum-machine-for-superbooth-19-45102 I'm just about to give it a listen. With so many jam points about to expire, there's always that temptation... Eugenio Upright, 60th Anniversary P-Bass, USA Geddy Lee J-Bass, Yamaha BBP35, D'angelico SS Bari, EXL1, Select Strat, 70th Anniversary Esquire, LP 57, Eastman T486, T64, Ibanez PM2, Hammond XK4, Moog Voyager
Doerfler
IDK, Mark. I wasn't aware about this product until your post. That's why we have these threads.
Mark Schmieder
Hmm, it might not be at Superbooth in spite of the timing. I see it at KVR but not at Sonic State. It sounds great for what it is, is affordable, and has a nice interface. But I never use drum machines anymore, and as Jam Points are limited to 30% (maybe less) of product cost, it's not enough of an incentive for me personally. UVI also just announced UVI Key Suite Digital, but it's a weird collection of mostly-90's digital piano rack modules and the like. It too was posted on KVR today, but that doesn't guarantee it's part of Superbooth. https://www.uvi.net/key-suite-digital It's cheap, as it should be considering what it samples. :-) Still, this might be a goldmine for some, as several of these modules haven't been sampled before, and often someone needs to replicate the exact sounds of a specific recording (especially if they are playing in the band that did them, as a friend often is, and the original keyboardist may not be inclined to loan out the original gear). GovernorSilver
I didn't think anyone here would be interested in drum machines, but yes there are a few interesting ones at Superbooth 2019, including the aforementioned Uno and this modular beast under development by SOMA: [video:youtube] And a bunch of new Eurorack modules... GovernorSilver
Thanks Geoff! In keeping with the Geoff convention, the hardware version of Retrologue 2, which until this year existed only as a software plugin [video:youtube] https://sonicstate.com/news/2019/05/09/superbooth-2019-steinberg-retrologue-hardware-synth/ While this may not interest the "real analog or bust" crowd, it's a tantalizing glimpse into the future of VST synths, like perhaps a uHe Diva hardware box. Who knows what will come out of this Steinberg-Mind Music Labs partnership. They also have a partnership w/ Propeller Heads and a photo of a new Eurorack module running Polysix For Reason, but I haven't found a video demo yet, specifically for that. There is however this 3-month old video [video:youtube]
