David Emm
The presets certainly sell it as having real depth, but the number of wavetables in synths seems to increase daily. Many are so intricate that they seem to be displacing WAV-based samples to some extent. I like the base sound of the method, especially when the feature is crossed with resynthesis. I'll have to read & hear more, but I'm initially wondering how Massive X necessarily tops Serum, for example. If I'm going to take up an added instrument, it has to fill a proper need, as opposed to being a variation of my existing plugs. I'm with Nick about the GUI needing more immediate visual feedback. That lack makes it feel ungainly, for the moment. NI isn't shy about upgrades, so they deserve room to polish a few rough spots like anyone else. Its not ideal, but if they follow through like others have done (Ableton comes to mind), it'll fly. Quote "I like that rapper with the bullet in his nose!" "Yeah, Bulletnose!
