I was connected with George, but really didn't know him personally. He was from Ventura County, and was a local hero that became well known for his fantastic bass playing and singing. From all accounts, George was as equally a great person along with his great musicianship, and he will be missed. I don't think any official site has been set up yet, I'm getting most of the news through my Facebook connections and folks that played with George over the years.
