Mac cleaner?

Not for viruses...I'm talking about something that can go through the computer, identify the unused and duplicate files as well as the ones that are left over from past migrations and get rid of them/help optimize the computer's performance.

Experiences? Recommendations?

Have you tried rebooting to Disk Utilities and explored those options?

Hold Command-R while starting up (or restarting) then select Disk Utility. Once there, the First Aid tab offers selections to apply to your disk. From this area you may be able to optimize performance and 'fix' some other quirky things. It is free and at your fingertips. Good luck.

I've used Dr. Cleaner from Trend Micro. It has lots of good App Store reviews too, which you can see at the link.

Did you pay for the full version?

No, I haven't used it that much.

@dB: Sierra's built-in storage management tools don't do the trick?

I used to use CleanMyMac, but found it wasn't really worth the price.

Not really what your looking for, but it made me think of something I heard an engineer buddy singing praises for the other day. Cleans up duplicate files well I'm told.
