Chinch bugs. You know... manganese. A lot of people don't even know what that is. Nitrogen...

Nothing you'll ever post could be more convincing that that! :D

When I got to the lawn care section, why did my mind suddenly change his voice to that of Hank Hill?

I hear it more as a cross between Felix Unger and Carl Spackler.

Read it, loved it! I just had no idea going in that it was a fantasy novel.

Is it? Amazon has it classified in their Top 100 Hot New Releases as "Romantic Action and Adventure." Which is fine by me -- they could put it in "Live Bait and Small Engine Repair" as long as it sells.

Did you like the music stuff interpolated throughout -- overt and covert?

The protagonist is somewhat humble, uses reason for motivation, is very dependable, and doesn't sleep with women at every opportunity. And yet, he is portrayed as a drummer. Obviously it's a fantasy novel.

Loved the music references!

If it makes anyone feel better, the protagonist for my next novel is named Tom Hamilton. And he's a bass player.

Sign me up! :D

Ok, now I have to get tickets to the new Broadway smash "Knight Rider: The Musical".

Right? Tell me that couldn't happen.

Currently on Broadway -- Spongebob Squarepants: The Musical, Pretty Woman: The Musical, and Elf: The Musical. I rest my case.

BTW, did you notice who's producing Knight Rider: The Musical?

Started reading two nights ago - I'm a slow reader (since I tend to only read a few pages of any given book prior to calling it a night) but so far it's a page-turner! Not cos of the suspense but I find the writing very cinematic and enticing.

And at 36 I am beginning to understand how poor Bill's suburban life evolved into the stalemate situation he finds himself in at the start of the book. I'm hoping there's still a chance for redemption, both for him and me.

On a side-note, I am currently heavily involved in Business Process management so I understand the complexity of trying to tell people what to do  I usually just say: "I'm in administration" and leave it at that.

"I'm a work in progress." Micky Barnes
