d halfnote
Reminded of him by Doc Pate. What's the dang deal w/ one of modern music's best retro-cognizant [ ] player-producers ? Been where, doin' what lately? Dan Lanois's cool & all but Pete's a firehosue. This time y'all fill ME in. :steve: d=halfnote
whitefang
Don't know much about him except that he was Detroit born, a few years older than me, is a multi-instrumentalist and works in various genres. Mostly country. Last played guitar on a CD by a cat named GRAYSON HUGHES in 2015. Other than that, I'm at a loss.... Whitefang I started out with NOTHING...and I still have most of it left! d halfnote
Pete Anderson was the rockalizing Tele cat & producer on all Dwight Yoakam's early records. Here's a hint of why y'oughta know somethin' 'bout him. [video:youtube] Burned hot on slide gtr, too [video:youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7cL9yJ41gA [bTW, in the OP I meant he's a FIREHOUSE, not a "firehosue". d=halfnote
CEB
I'm friends with Pete on FB. He has been playing more lately. He has been selling a lot of his classic amps. The first Deluxe that Jim Williams rebuilt into the Tone monster that provided all the sound for the early Dwight records is for sale. He is playing a lot of hollow bodies these days doing more of an Americana thing. Pete is the man that inspired me to play Teles and retire my old Strat. CEB
PS The amp must have sold or Pete had second thoughts. We're I a rich man I would have snagged this piece of history immediately. https://reverb.com/item/4529821-pete-anderson-1965-fender-blackface-deluxe-heavily-modded "It doesn't have to be difficult to be cool" - Mitch Towne "A great musician can bring tears to your eyes!!!
