Jazz+
New record consisting of 14 previously unreleased studio performances by Erroll Garner and his band. Erroll Garner learned piano by watching and listening his older brothers and sisters practice their piano lesson homework. And he learned by watching the keys of the family player piano very closely. Errol would work the pedals slowly, pause and copy the ways the keys played. He did that with many piano rolls of ragtime and classical pieces. It was a great way for him to learn piano in his childhood. Erroll is known for his amazing rhythm feeling. He would play his left hand in a steady rhythm while his right hand would lay it down in a different time frame, independent from the left hand. The right hand melody phrasing would lay way back behind his left hand beat and then for a refreshing change he would let the right hand speed up or suddenly playing extremely on top of the beat back and in either swing or even eighths.
