hardware
http://www.voodoo-labs.com/index/gearslutz_data/bellarimods.htm Recently added this with RCA 5751 and AD823AN OpAmps. ROMplers and Samples sound so much better. Total cost was 750 USD. Low gain RCA 5751 blacks were pricey but magical. I can see why the right tubes for 3300 Leslies is crucial. Markyboard
I'm not sure which device you added. Was it the stuidio tube processor or exciter? ROMplers and Samples sound so much better. Sounds intriguing - any examples? Ah sorry, just realized the thread title. Although no mention of the 563 in the link I found it elsewhere. Must be the successor to the 562. hardware
Actually a mistake typo,Its the 562 pre 2007. Wal warts added noise to the audio. I'll fix the title. Magnus C350 + FMR RNP + Realistic Unisphere Mic
hardware
I'll see if we can get a recording from the console this week. On my IEMs its magical. True test will be with live rig. My B1200/SSv3 is set up in another city atm. If the difference on cabinets is like the IEMs it will be very noticable. Markyboard
Cool - thanks. There was a thread here several years ago (I think) regarding exciters like the BBE (which I had) and the Aphex Aural Exciter with "big bottom". This was all the rage in the late 80s early 90s but then I think folks figured out this was screwing with the mix and the same affect could be achieved with eq and maybe some other techniques without all the undesirable artifacts. Here's a related link from Gearslutz. Not sure this has any relevance to the your exciter but I'm always interested to check these things out.
