AnotherScott
Has anyone checked out Gospel Musicians' "BlueBeast" Yamaha EX5 emulator? I'd like to hear people's thoughts, pro or con. https://gospelmusicians.com/the-bluebeast.html Maybe this is the best place for a shameless plug! Our now not-so-new new video at https://youtu.be/3ZRC3b4p4EI is a 40 minute adaptation of T. S. Eliot's "Prufrock" - check it out! And hopefully I'll have something new here this year. ;-)
brenner13
Wow...makes me want to dive into the AN1 engine again. 'Wonder if I can figure out an editor on iOS MIDI Designer?
hardware
Yes I have. On headphones sounds fantastic. Next to the FS1r this Dog won't hunt. But great for recording and composition, many excellent digital textures. Magnus C350 + FMR RNP + Realistic Unisphere Mic
Synthoid
Next to the FS1r this Dog won't hunt. He's a party animal. When an eel hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's a Moray.
BRW
I still keep wondering how he's able to sample these Yamaha instruments, including factory waveforms and presets - then sell them as "his" without Yamaha intervening? For instance, UVI samples hardware synths also, but they never do factory presets.

But great for recording and composition, many excellent digital textures. Well, the FS1r isn't under consideration, I'm not looking to add rack modules. Actually, I was thinking about adding a win tablet to my live rig, and I've long missed some sounds from my old Yamaha S30, and thought that this might be a way to get them! The AN1 could sound pretty cool too. The VL instruments would be intriguing, but I think they were more about the "behavior" and would only be superficially captured by a sampled representation. Maybe this is the best place for a shameless plug! Our now not-so-new new video at https://youtu.be/3ZRC3b4p4EI is a 40 minute adaptation of T. S. Eliot's "Prufrock" - check it out! ElmerJFudd
Sampling hardware is pretty rampant with software developers, especially on iOS. So, most instruments are sold with the understanding that their patches are going to wind up on records, no? The difference here is that the recordings are being sold as new instruments? Now, those waveforms have been edited to function in their new host. But... yeah, the source recordings are from a ROM - or these days even from flash RAM/SSD. And then you have the analogue instruments... where you have preset patch programming in some cases, and the instruments sound is also uniquely designed by the end user. Are the rules different for sampling these instruments? Maybe these little apps haven't generated enough in sales to catch the ire of the likes of Yamaha, Roland, Korg, et al... yet. AnotherScott
WiFi and Native, the worst of both worlds..... No intention of using WiFi, and wasn't looking at Native Instruments at the moment... but would be glad to hear your exposition! Maybe this is the best place for a shameless plug!
