got a quick question (or two)

i need DDR RAM (PC2100) for my DAW - what brands should i avoid? what's the best ram or ram configuration? (2x256 or 1x512) I'm looking at around 512MB. it's an ASUS (A7A266 ALi chipset) mobo w/1.4GHz T-bird. oh, and yes, i did a search, but not on all forums, i don't have that kind of time....which brings me to another question regarding searching: Rob (Kudyba), before the UBB upgrade, i had the option of searching 'all open forums'. now it's not there anymore, is this feature comming back? i used it quite often, it just made searching so much easier. thanks :)
