Gary75
I purchased a last gen Korg BX3 recently. Ran it into my SEP into a 122. Buzz ensues. The BX3 is not even turned on for it to happen. Both Leslie and pre are in fine working condition. Seems like a mismatch. I'm running unbalanced cable. Any ideas why the BX3 would do this? Just did a search on here and it appears I had the same issue with the KeyB Duo using the same SEP new back in 2010. Must be a design flaw for 220v SEP units. In that it never worked from new that is. At the time Steve said it was a grounding issue.
Gary75
Ok, it was a simple ground lift to resolve the Korg BX3 - SVTP - 122. The BX3 sounds really good through it! I just wish the manual for the SVTP would have mentioned the possibility of needing ground lifted. Hey ho!
Skinny
How did you do the ground lift? Does the Speakeasy have a switch? Stuff and things.
Gary75
No, I used a cheap passive Art DI box between the BX3 and Preamp.
Skinny
I was wondering if that was maybe the case, but I didn't know if the ground lift worked on the passive 1/4 through. Or do you use the XLR connection somehow? Stuff and things.
Gary75
I'm using an xlr to mono jack cable from the xlr output on the DI to the input of the pre. I'm not using the input thru.
