Strategery
How many syllables can I get in one note. Has been getting on my nerves for years and years. Zack Brown band sang it fantastically at a recent football game. Wish I had the video but they really did it justice. Randy "Just play!"

BluMunk
Pretty 80s-tastic, but despite the dated look/feel, it's one of my favorites: [video:youtube] Up tempo, no excessive noodling, and overly-dramatic pauses or brass sections.
Griffinator
Actually the girl who sang it at the Ravens-Pats game did pretty well, I thought - not a single flair until the last line. Of course, she had two guys kicking in harmonies here and there, apparently to keep her honest... :D A bunch of loud, obnoxious music I USED to make with friends. Griffinator
Pretty 80s-tastic, but despite the dated look/feel, it's one of my favorites: Up tempo, no excessive noodling, and overly-dramatic pauses or brass sections. Pretty much straight to the letter, including classic four-part harmony, save the "Rocket's red glare" part... All those harmony notes sounded very, very familiar to me from being a Tenor/Bass in concert choir and having to perform that song at our graduation ceremony as a senior. Related, yet slightly off-topic... We also had to perform the school song, this terrible "Hail, hail to Concord" number that was written by a kid in my mother's graduating class at same school. Well, I rewrote the lyrics to that one *devilish grin* and organized a grand conspiracy for our little group (25 seniors in the concert choir) to sing my "alternate" lyric at the ceremony... Here's what came out (much to the choir director's horror!) Hail, hail on Concord, dear old Concord High Stones the size of golfballs falling from the sky Holes in the rooftops where shattered windows lie Hail, hail the size of golfballs fall on Concord High... A bunch of loud, obnoxious music I USED to make with friends.

Griffinator
Nope, don't like it at all, Dave. No offense to your friend, but he's doing it like a lounge singer. A bunch of loud, obnoxious music I USED to make with friends.

I just don't care for his interpretation. Too much scooping, sliding, and trills for my taste. A bunch of loud, obnoxious music I USED to make with friends.
