WheelHead
Like most everyone here, when someone that we know who is a non-musician wants to buy something as a gift for a player we may get a question. This player is actually a young female attorney friend of mine who took lessons in her youth for a long time and has no piano where she lives with her new husband who wants to buy her a piano, though, being newly married they are not wealthy. (yet) I tend to buy the ultimate stuff of the highest rating and do not really look that deeply at the more moderately priced instruments though I should. This time I got a question about a console digital piano. This husband wants an opinion on the Yamaha YDP223 console digital piano that somehow got his attention. I guess this is in the 1500 to 2000 dollar group. Does anyone have any recommendations for a console digital piano? An opinion about this model the Yamaha YDP223? Thanks for any reply. Sven Golly
YDP = Arius, which is basically a P95 or P155 action in a cabinet. If they're near the $2k range, move them to a Clavinova (CLP430 or CLP440) for the GH3 action and better sound, and the better warranty.
