plangentmusic
In this video. : ) Even though it's from the surf album. Funny thing is, it doesn;t feature the bas. In fact, I played the bass last and actually read a chart. kept it simple. But I think it shows how the P bass really hits the spot for some things. It's so...organic. Does the job and doesn't get in the way. I like that sometimes. jeremy c
You played everything on that, right? Guitar, bass, and drums? I like it. I'd rather listen to a band than to solo bass. Good work. Now work on those stage moves and the girls will be all over you. Free download of my cd!.

Yeah, the funny thing is the solo stuff is just futzin around. My favorite platers are guys that play interesting parts. McCartney, Squire, JP Jones, Joe Osborne. But hey, it's a bass site. lol. Oddly enough, some of the best solo guys aren't the most interesting parts players. I like it all, as well as composing and playing other instruments. It's all just notes. Michele C.
I like it. I'd rather listen to a band than to solo bass. Agreed. I am old enough to have listened to sound like this on stereo8 and I like it. -- Michele Costabile (http://proxybar.net)
b5pilot
I'd rather listen to a band than to solo bass. Same here. I get bored if any solo goes on for too long. I have a warm spot in my heart for p basses. There is just something about them. They are just so blissfully simple. Recenty I've been having a hankering for a 5 string p bass with a j bass neck. Lydian mode? The only mode I know has the words "pie ala" in front of it. http://www.myspace.com/theeldoradosband

Well, there's a difference between a bass solo and a chord melody. But in regard to the P with a J neck -- I know some guys like that, but give the P neck a chance It's a part of the whole P trip. It goes hand in hand with the sound. JAZZ UN-STANDARDS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vE4FoJ4Cr4&feature=related DON'T FEAR...THE REVERB! 60's Instrumentals with MORE BASS! Phil W
Recenty I've been having a hankering for a 5 string p bass with a j bass neck. Oddly I adore J basses with P necks - maybe we should but something together. http://philwbass.com

I've owned a couple p-basses and although the 4 string necks are great I'm thinking a 5 string version with that wider spacing down by the nut might be just a tad uncomfortable. Then again I've yet to try one. I might like it. By the way, good job on the tune! Lydian mode? Phil W
That's a point - I missed the 5 string bit - I forgot some basses have more than 4 strings! http://philwbass.com
