Wow-well it was smaller that previous events, as are many this year due to the ongoing situation. But still amazing. Taylor Guitars had a separate room with their entire lineup on the walls. Wanna play one, take it off the wall and sit down-any one. I couldn`t keep my hands off the 814 CE-but I have to say, between that one and several other makers I really focused on projection this year-I played two in the 814 series and one was clearly louder.

Roger Mayer was there as usual but he was busy signing autographs, I didn`t want to bother him.

Anyway I grabbed a few pics and even a few videos, but for some reason every time I post them they`ve been turning out sideways. I`ll try to fix it.

Same old surprises, brand new cliches-

Keep yer fur on BA, they`re a comin`!

Ya it was a blast Caev-I got to spend some time with the Pod XT-Gifthorse is right, very rich sounds. Mesa had amps and guitars set up to play-I had looked at a Mark IV a long time ago but this was my first time to sit down and play. I see why there are so many fans but, my impresson is it`s not `my` sound.

Not as many interesting guitars as I would have liked but keep an eye out for Knaggs-he was with PRS, in the `private stock` line.

Oh, they`re already set up online-here ya go:

Okay guys, here`s a feast for the eyes:

#1-the Taylor room. I could see how some people could walk in here and just stay for the rest of the day-anything on the wall, just grab it, have a seat and play till you fall down:

#2-Wanna try out a pedal or two? makes me wish I was a spider:

#3-Redwood. I LOVE redwood:

#4-There is a style of music in Japan called visual-kei, which if I was the gambling type, I`d bet will never catch on in America. This guitar from the ESP booth, it`s a sig model of a visual-kei guitarist. I don`t know if it`s clear in the pic but the cross in the center lights up:

#5-One of many fine performances-but just as I feared, the stupid video is sideways. That is really annoying, if anyone has an idea for a fix I`m all ears:

#6-Another annoying sideways video but very cool, Joe Knaggs demonstrating how to carve a top:

Actually I can`t see the vids from here, so let me know if they don`t play and I`ll repost them.

Well visual-kei music is something like a head-on collision-followed by a multivehicle pileup-between glam and goth, with a dash of anime superhero thrown in. Secure masculinity would not be a job requirement.

Dude-I mean, some of the guitarists can play some ripping speed licks but, it`s more about looking good in leather, vinyl, lace, five inch heels, chains, big hair and makeup. Don`t even get me started on the stuff the girls wear.

Didn't even know what visual kei really was until yesterday. Couple of youtube clips and I'm backing away slowly from the monitor. Actually didn't see any of the girl-guys..playing guitars as interesting as the blue one pictured here. Mostly typical stuff actually.
Sorry I'm late. I had to tame a wild honeymoon stallion for ya'.
