Winston Psmith
After two years helping my wife with her catering & food production business, I'm off to a real job again today, helping an old friend in his new location - yes, it's a music store. I'd actually been working with my friend Jerry for some time, when I left to help out my wife, and I left on very good terms, so we're glad to be working together again. Bunch of good guys, some new gear, a bigger, better location, and even a soundstage in back - not a bad set-up, for a small independent music store. I'm actually looking forward to spending my day tuning guitars, setting up displays, and selling gear. I also want to thank everybody in this Forum - you guys (it's mostly guys in here) have been my music community for much of this time, and I'm profoundly grateful. I look forward to spending many more hours in here with all my friends - just not while I'm at work. (Well, maybe sometimes.) "Monsters are real, and Ghosts are real too. Eric Iverson
Good luck, WP. I wouldn't mind shopping there. It might be an improvement from some of the rude, clueless kids I've dealt with, LOL! Seriously, it's a pleasure to go to a music store and deal with people who actually know what they're talking about and respect the customers! Danzilla
Hmmm... wouldn't happen to be teh Jerry's in Bethesda, would it? I was strolling through the town about a month ago, and didn't see the store where it had been a year or so ago. If so, glad to hear it's still around - send me the address, if'n you get the chance. Winston Psmith
Thanks, everybody! I'm home after a very good day. We even made onto the local news, in a story on local businesses in the current economy! Very cool! @Eric - we're mostly older guys, and working musicians. There's a few hundred years of experience represented among a handful of us, and a lot of love and dedication. II couldn't work in a place where nobody cared about what they were doing - why even show up to work, in that case. @d - D.C. beltway, home to some of the worst traffic in the country. Must be reflecting the gridlock downtown. @Caevan - I'd be glad to have you come on by, just to meet you IRL! Of course, that goes for everybody here. @Danzilla - that's us, Jerry's Music, formerly of Bethesda, Maryland. I'll send you the new info in a PM. Once again, thanks, everybody. This is still my favorite music hangout, but only because of all of you. Good night, all. "Monsters are real, and Ghosts are real too. They live inside us, and sometimes, they win."
