Gifthorse
Nice playing, awesome tone in his hands. He kind of reminds me a bit of Eric Johnson, but with a better tone. I am not THAT into his instrumentals though (some of them are cool IMO). They are cool, but a bit 'rock guitar instrumentalish' sounding. But his solos are insanely tasty, and his feel and technique are excellent. Also his tone is awesome. It is reminiscient of EJ, but better in my opinion becuase it sounds a bit more organic. That one band you sent me a link to during the winter had some cool instrumentals. Could you send me that link again? I lost it cuz I have a new PC. You know the one it was like Cosmic something or another. I mean that was the name of the tune. THAT really grabbed me. Of course the guitar solos weren't as flashy as this guy but I really dug thier music. picker
He definitely took a lot for Johnson, all right. As for his tone, it's more like Steve Vai, and I hear a good bit of his stuff in the mix too. He's a good player, no doubt. A bit more derivative than I like, but there's no faulting his technique. Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else. Gifthorse
Pagans Mind? No, I can't remember the name. It was a European band though. You sent me a link this winter and said you were digging them bigtime. They weren't exactly shred, but had some cool rockin tunes. d halfnote
Personally I think there are way too many guitar players already. The bad ones should quit annoying the rest of us with their noise. The good ones should quit annoying us with their skill level. They should all get outta the way so I can get more gigs. d=halfnote
skipclone 1
Well between the two I definitely prefer EJ but this guy is a pleasure to listen to. He`s got fine chops but shows tasteful restraint, all too rare among guitar types. Bejeeber
Hot player, yep. If he's established his own voice, I guess I haven't listened long enough to pick up on it yet (?), I'm mainly hearing him keep close to style of his influences. Just a pinch between the geek and chum
