...
That wasn't cool at all. Just not cool, man. I want one. Minor correction on the Mike Lull T-bird spec: He's having the pickups hand wound to the original Gibson spec. The pickup covers and surround is actually made by the same company that originally made them for Gibson in the 60's.
Boonok
Definitely just my opinion but i think t birds are ugly. Now a Dingwall SG style bass would be tasty.
b5pilot
Okie dokie.... I think a Dingwall Thunderbird would be drop dead sexy especially with a wood like burled maple. Dingwall had those two sketches. I liked the first one. A Thunderbird has to have that reverse style peghead. Lydian mode? The only mode I know has the words "pie ala" in front of it. http://www.myspace.com/theeldoradosband
davio
Thanks, Chad. Brian, I'm here to help, man. You can cry on my shoulder. Boonok, I don't think I'd like an SG with fanned frets. Then again, I wasn't sure I'd like a T-Bird with them.
kenfxj
From a pure artistic design standpoint, the Thunderbird body lines flow real nice with the fanned frets. Just sayin... Push the button Frank.
Slinky P
From a pure artistic design standpoint, the Thunderbird body lines flow real nice with the fanned frets. Just sayin... Yeah the lines of the body flow right into the fanned frets which flow right into the reverse peghead. "there ain't no faux mojo" jcadmus
Boonok
I checked out the sound clips for the "Combustion" line yesterday on the dingwall site and they sound pretty damn tasty. If they make a six string I shall be forced to lust after it.
davio
Sheldon's said "just a 5 string for now." He's sort of implied that 6's and fretless's are possibilities for the Combustion.
moot
So, last night the drummer showed up with a vid of Totos last gig and insisted on making us watch it. Never been a Toto fan. Anyway, Mr. Leland Sklar was playing for them. http://www.getreadytorock.com/reviews2007/leland_sklar1a.jpg It was cool because the guitarist had never seen a Dingwall before. The drummer of course didn't care. "He is to music what Stevie Wonder is to photography." getz76 I have nothing nice to say so . . .
